How we handle data
This is a plain-language summary of how the system works today. Our full legal privacy notice is being finalised with a lawyer and will replace this page.
What a school keeps in Techscholar
Names, admission numbers, classes, subjects, marks and grades, report card remarks, and contact details for teachers and parents (email, phone). Nothing else is needed to run results, so nothing else is collected.
Who can see it
- The school. Its own admin and teachers, each for what their role needs.
- Parents and students. A student sees only their own results. A parent sees only their own linked children. Results appear only after the school publishes them, and the school can hold any single result back.
- Other schools. Never. One school's records cannot be opened from another's.
- Techscholar's team. Only when they need to give you support.
How it is protected
- Teachers and school admins sign in with a second step from their phone.
- Passwords are stored scrambled, never in plain text, and are never sent by email. Student PINs are printed once on a slip.
- Everything travels over encrypted connections.
- Sensitive actions (printing slips, publishing, changing published results) are recorded, and each school's admin can read that record.
- Backups are made regularly and tested by restoring them.
Children's records
Students are children, so we keep only what results need, and we do not show their records to anyone but their school and their own family.
Your questions
To ask what is held about a student, to correct it, or to ask for it to be removed, contact your school first. You can also reach us through the contact form.
