Results and report cards

Teachers enter marks in a simple grid on any phone or computer, and each mark saves the moment it is typed, even when the connection is weak. Totals, grades and class positions work themselves out from your school's own tests and grades. The form teacher reviews, the principal approves, and a whole class is published in one go. Parents and students see the report card only after you publish.

Parent and student access

Parents sign in with a phone number or email, or with a slip printed by the school, and see each child's published results. Students sign in with their admission number and a PIN. Nobody sees anyone else's results.

Attendance

Teachers mark who is present each day on any phone, and the school sees attendance by class and by week. The term's attendance appears on the report card, and parents can be alerted the same day (see Announcements).

Fee payments

Parents pay online through the school's own Paystack account, so the money goes straight to the school, or they pay into the school's bank account and send the teller for the office to confirm. The school sees who has paid and who has not, reminders go out automatically and receipts are issued. The school can hold results for unpaid fees if it chooses to.

Announcements

Parents get a notification on the app or on WhatsApp when their child is marked absent, and when a report card is ready. A parent can send an excuse for the day and the form teacher approves it. WhatsApp, SMS and email alerts are opt-in and work once the school has connected that channel. Schools also post events once and every parent, teacher and student sees them on their calendar.

Tests and exams (CBT)

Teachers build tests with multiple-choice and essay questions, or import them from Word or Excel, set a time limit and a window, and students sit them on their phone or a school computer. Multiple-choice is marked instantly, essays are graded by the teacher, and the scores can feed straight into continuous assessment. Pupils get different questions and a different order, and the teacher sees which questions were too hard or too easy.

Learning hub

A full learning management system for your school. Teachers type lesson notes directly, or upload a Word document, a PDF or a scanned PDF and we turn it into readable notes. They set assignments, students submit, and teachers grade, all in one place.

JAMB, WAEC and NECO preparation

SS2 and SS3 pupils choose their JAMB and WAEC/NECO subjects, then practise by exam: short practice tests that show the answer and the reason after every question, exam practice under a clock, and full mock exams. Flashcards bring back what they got wrong, and a daily workout starts with their weakest topics. Techscholar supplies original practice questions (they are not official past papers), and your teachers add the past papers your school may use, with diagrams where a question needs one.

Brain gym and rewards

Students warm up with short daily puzzles and quizzes drawn from the materials your school already has on record, or from custom sets written for each class. They earn points, keep streaks going and level up. Every session also feeds the psychometric analysis, so the games are the baseline and the endline, and the experience adapts to each student's learning persona.

Psychometric analysis

Psychometric analysis is built on the brain gym. Students play short, class-appropriate challenges, made from your school's own materials or from custom sets, and the same sessions measure how they think and learn. A baseline early in the year and an endline at the end show growth, and together they build each student's learning persona, which tunes the brain gym to suit them. Results are shown to the student, their parents and their form teacher. The principal sees class patterns without names, and no one else sees a child's profile.

ScholarTab

ScholarTab is the hardware side of Techscholar, so the virtual campus reaches every pupil and every classroom. Students would learn outside school on financed tablets and laptops that arrive set up with their school's Techscholar. Schools would teach on digital boards that open the class, take attendance, show the lesson and set homework. It is still being shaped with schools: there are no prices, dates or order forms yet, and we will say so plainly when there are.

Easy setup from Excel

Upload the Excel or CSV lists you already have for students, teachers and parents. We read your column names, match them, show any problem row by row, and save nothing until you confirm. One click undoes a whole import, and starting in the middle of a term is fine.
